A viral video shows NTK leader Seeman reacting emotionally after his party did not win a single seat in the 2026 Tamil Nadu elections.
The video dates back to 2021 and is not related to the elections.
A video is going viral on TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram, claiming to show Tamil Nadu politician Senthamizhan Seeman’s emotional reaction to the results of the recent Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly elections, where his party, Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK), did not win a single seat. The posts carried Tamil captions such as: “This is not my defeat, it is the people’s defeat – Seeman”, “NTK defeat 💔 Seeman in tears 😢” and “After election defeat, Seeman emotional video.”

Keyword searches in both English and Tamil using terms like “Seeman emotional video 2026 election” and “NTK election loss reaction” did not return any credible recent news reports matching the viral claim.
A reverse image search of keyframes from the viral video traced it back to an older upload.
The original video was uploaded on May 18, 2021, on the official YouTube channel of Naam Tamilar Katchi, with the title related to “May 18 remembrance” featuring Seeman’s speech in that video.
A longer version of the same footage was also uploaded by IBC Tamil on May 19, 2021, featuring Seeman speaking in the context of Tamil remembrance events and political commentary at the time.
Additionally, NTK member Idumbavanam Karthik reportedly clarified on X that the circulating clip is not related to the 2026 election results.
The Naam Tamilar Katchi is a Tamil nationalist political party active in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, led by Senthamizhan Seeman. The party is known for its strong ideological stance on Tamil identity, Tamil Eelam, and its support for the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) and its leader Velupillai Prabhakaran.
Because of this political positioning and Seeman’s emotionally charged public speeches, older clips of him often resurface during election periods and are frequently misrepresented as current reactions. These videos also consistently receive strong attention in Sri Lanka, where Tamil political content related to Tamil Eelam, LTTE history, and Prabhakaran remains widely followed and discussed on social media.
In this case, an old video of Seeman was resurfaced and misrepresented as a reaction to the 2026 election results, contributing to confusion and misinformation online.
